Southern Belly BBQ

This place is spectacular. We make sure to find top Bbq anywhere we can when we travel. Found this place on a top list of Columbia. It is not a typical bbq joint. They have a bunch of amazing sandwiches with mostly BBQ pork. This is a must visit place. My wife had the Grilled cheese. This is a grilled cheese with pulled pork. If you like grilled cheese and BBQ. You won't find a better sandwich. I had the Django which was a spicier sandwich. It was excellent. The spicy sauce was a great addition. My daughter had the Southern belly dipper. It is paired with an Alabama White sauce. It is also knock your socks off. My son had a plain grill cheese. It was one of the best I had ever tasted. He normally eats middle only of a grilled cheese. He smoke every crumb. Honestly, the Django was the 4th best which is nuts because it was great. I can see why this one is climbing top Bbq list of SC. It's deserved.

Was very excited to check this place out, but I was a little underwhelmed from our experience. We walked in for lunch time around 1pm and it was completely empty and almost thought it was closed. We were greeted soon after and we got our orders put in. Food and drink came out pretty quickly. The sweet tea wasn't sweet at all, and my sandwich buns were completely burnt on the inside so it messed with the flavors of the sandwich. Overall, it wasn't horrible, but I'd rather spend my $30 else where for bbq. UPDATE: We ordered the Southern Belly Dipper and King Kahuna Sandwiches.

Really tasty BBQ, though I don't think I like it more than Midwood out near Fort Jackson. Mainly, that's because it's just sandwiches on white bread with chips. So, the meat is amazing, but it'd be nice if there were more options of how to eat it. Great area, though.
