Sotol Modern Cocktail Kitchen

First time, great place to watch the sunset. Cha-cho was our server and made it a great experience. Her suggestions were spot on We just had a couple cocktails that were fabulous so can't speak to the food. Even something as normal as a Old Fashioned was delicious.

Sotol was nice experience, the rooftop setting is unique to the Gilbert area and I hope more rooftop dining opens up in the future. We went for happy hour, from 4-6pm. The HH is drinks only, two old fashions (one with chocolate bitters), well drinks, a copper mule and wine; no food is included. We tried the tostada's and the cactus paddles and fried yucca, the food was very good and boasted a nice flavor and texture balance. I recommend the tostadas. The service was nice but fairly slow. And the overall ambiance and setting decor is lacking a little. For the price I paid for three tostada's and two drinks, I expected more than tiled tabletops, fake plants and wooden benches with cushions that slide off. I may check it out again to see if anything has changed up at all in the future.

Almost walked passed the front door, but glad we climbed 3 flights of stairs (hint: there is an elevator) to Sotol. What a quaint, cozy, upscale feel, with hometown service vibes. The view at night is spectacular with a perfect shot of Gilbert's always lit water tower. The food was delicious (best guacamole EVER!) The drinks stole the show! A bit on the pricier side, but definitely worth it. After one, I was feeling pretty good, but went in for a second ???? You get what you pay for at Sotol which is a great overall experience!
