Sonny's Pizza Bistro

[November] Finally! We tried Sonny's! I used to work for Lori Vacco and am so happy to have reconnected after many years! So, we had to go experience Sonny's for ourselves. Bruschetta, Tuscan pizza, and chicken Romano. Okay, I have to admit, I hadn't picked up a jar of Sonny's red sauce at Hy-Vee. But, I will tell you the first item on my grocery list is! Wow. That is hands-down, the best red sauce I've had! ????????‍????

Nice place to go for martinis. We have been there several times but not recently. We had the philly cheese steak pizza. It was very enjoyable. The crust is thin and has a crunch. Other things on the menu we have enjoyed. This place doesn't have the to die for item. Maybe they do and we haven't had it. But solid martinis and solid food. This place is always in our rotation of places we eat at around town.

I called in a take-out order and requested penne pasta w/pesto. I got home to find I'd been given pasta primavera! NOT what I ordered so I went all the way back to get the right order. The manager was VERY rude and demanded the pasta primavera back before exchanging it! Then she had the nerve to say it was a misunderstanding on my part as to what I wanted. The dinners were a few dollars difference which the manager wouldn't refund as well. We ate there A LOT and spent a lot of money but now I'm not sure I'll ever go in there again because of the managers attitude and refusal to make a simple situation....right. Too bad she couldn't be pleasant.
