I ordered two Queso Birria tacos, two pastor street tacos and a cabesa street taco. The cabesa was the best as it was the simplest; cabesa with onions and cilantro. They put some kind of slaw, along with guac on the pastor tacos - again they were good but simple is best. I love guac but just my opinion, let me put guac on my taco; don't do it for me. The birria tacos were good, not great and the consome was delicious.
The shrimp cocktail is good! Micheladas are AMAZING. The tacos are forgetable. The atmosphere makes up for it! Great music and you can select from the jukebox. Staff is always friendly.
The first time I went to So Cal Tacos and Beer, the service was great. The food was tasty, and overall, we had a nice time. Went back yesterday, and it was the very opposite. Ordered our food. Took a minute to find a clean table. Sat there for more than 40 minutes and no food. Finally went back to the counter, the cashier and other server didn't even look at us. The bartender was nice enough to re print our order and give it to the cook. Apparently, he had made it, and it was given to someone else by mistake. When the order was done again, the server just threw the plate on our table in the most rude and dismissive way. No apologizes, nothing. Won't be going back there anymore. Also, the food was almost burned and tasted horrible. Nothing like the first time. I'm not sure what happened.
