I gave Smokin Barrel BBQ a try today on the recommendation of a friend. I ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich. The meat was piled high, tasted smoky and it was very tender. However, the meat was room temp served on a room temp bun. I would've given 5 stars for warmed meat and especially a warm buttery toasted bun. I tried all three of their sauces and they were all good but I didn't fall in love. It would've been nice to have a white BBQ sauce option. The staff were nice, it seemed like a family business. It felt less like a restaurant and more like a BBQ Truck indoor dining area. Which was refreshing. I would recommend giving them a try.

I'm from Texas and in town for a while and was looking for good BBQ. I've tried a lot of great BBQ back home and was looking for a place here in Omaha. This restaurant was recommended and had good ratings, so decided to try it. The man serving the food wasn't very friendly, but of well I'm here for the food. Brisket was tasty, tender, but a little dry. The bun used for the BBQ sandwich was a little cold. Not even room temperature. Sausage has a strong taste of some spice in it which I didn't enjoy. The pork rib was pretty good taste and tender wise. It just had a little to much pepper on it. Over all I would rate it a 3 1/2 on what I tried.
