Smee's Alaskan Fish Bar & Market Place

I was there a couple of weeks ago with my neighbors. It was a cold night, not very crowded unfortunately. We had a great server and got to meet the owner as well. The food is fantastic, clearly the best fish&chips I've had, including many times in the UK. Try the spicy fish, yummy. I deduct a star because of the high prices, but you will really love the food and service.

I've been here in Summer and Winter and the photos are from the Winter. One of the few places in Reno you can dine with a view of the river and also has outdoor dining option. Outside is the place to sit, even in the Winter on a sunny day. Place during the week in the Winter was deserted as Reno really isn't a Winter destination as most visitors will be staying in Tahoe. Excellent Fish & Chips although pricey (around $22-$27). Lots of other things on the menu. You're paying a premium for the location. You may have to exercise some patience with service if you are there when it's busy as like many cities, staffing now can be challenging.
