Skillets - Sarasota - Oaks Plaza

The atmosphere was great the food was awful. We had a new server that really didn't know anything about the menu or food that was served. We ordered sausage biscuits and gravy which came with 2 eggs and breakfast potatoes. Our biscuit tops and bottoms were crispy which was not expected or desired, the gravy was not at all hot, the potatoes ended up being some type of casserole. The manager spoke to us at checkout, said that's how their biscuits are, was going to speak to kitchen staff about gravy temperature and provided a discount to our meal

Food was okay. Definitely would not recommend the biscuits n gravy very salty nice staff though cute inside. Would go back to try something different. Will also say it's very expensive for what it is.

In town visiting my parents and we decided to Stop in for a mid-day breakfast. I ordered the pancake combo breakfast where you get two pancakes, choice of meat (I got the pork sausage) and two eggs. I added strawberry toppings with warm strawberry syrup for $2 more and their special skillet potatoes. The pancakes were the size of a traditional size plate and they were good. The eggs were prepared to my request and they met my expectations. The pork sausage was good but the skillet potatoes were just ok. The potatoes needed a little more flavor and maybe a few onions. The service was awesome! Overall, I would visit this place again and I would definitely recommend that you give it a try.
