If I could give negative stars I would!! This is my 2nd time "giving them a try" The service is TRASH!!! When we come they act as if they don't see you "literally". The first time they left us standing there waiting to be seated and the 2nd time the guy told us to have a seat and proceeded to mop the floor for 20 minutes and then went to the back for another 10. I don't plan to try it again.
I enjoyed my early morning meal on my last day of my visit to Texas in here. I ordered eba and okro stew, and suya. The meal was hot and delicious. They had it packaged in a To-Go package even though we were eating there. The oeices were reasonable as well.
I was excited to finally find an African restaurant to try authentic food. So, before going, I saw different chefs make similar dishes I wanted to try. To my surprise, there wasn't much on the menu at Shuri, so I ordered Egusi soup with pounded yam, and after seeing it being cooked several times, the consistency of what I received was completely different. It was so greasy compared to what I had seen, and it was so hot there was no way to eat it without a spoon. Once it cooled down a bit enough to eat as intended it had no real flavor to it, just a bit spicy. I tried the Jollof rice, and goat. The Jollof rice was very good, but the goat still had skin on it. There was very little meat and, tasted like old and too tough to eat. I only enjoyed the Jollof rice. So for 43.00 I enjoyed rice. The location was very quiet, but I think that it would be better to have African music softly playing than depressing news. When people go to eat they want to enjoy a relaxing atmosphere not listen to
