Good food and adequate service. Prices were reasonable considering its location so close to Yale. Expect all dishes on the menu to be moderately spicy, so be sure to ask about the spice level if you have any issues with spice. I recommend the butter chicken shared plate and the iced chai tea latte. If you're looking for some Indian food with a pleasant environment and adequate service, this is the place to go in New Haven.
Me and family went to this place excited for having Indian food, and it proved to be a total disappointment. We ordered masala dosa, seek kabab and butter chicken. Definitely the chef does not know a thing about Indian cooking. It was a complete mess. Would not go back neither suggest anyone to waste their money. Overall, Ambiance 10/10, Customer Service 8/10, Food 1/10.
I thoroughly enjoy dining at this establishment in New Haven for its Indian cuisine. While it has consistently remained my favorite spot, I believe there are opportunities for further refinement to achieve an even more authentic taste. For instance, the dum Biryani fell short of my expectations; the rice lacked moisture and failed to incorporate the delicate blend of spices. Moreover, the Chicken Naan resembled more of a pizza flavor profile. On a slightly disappointing note, the desi tea did not live up to its reputation. It arrived at our table nearly cold, leaving much to be desired in terms of its traditional flavor. The $5 price tag for the tea felt disproportionate considering the overall experience. Although we brought this concern to the attention of the staff, their responsiveness was not as receptive as anticipated.
