Unfortunately I had to change my review. The hostess hurried my order on the phone without checking to make sure she took it down correctly. When I did go to pick up my takeout, she had tried to put in an 18% tip for TAKEOUT and got upset with me when I changed it to no tip. I always tip 15-20% when I go into eat, but there's no reason behind tipping for takeout at restaurants. To top it all off- I asked for no tofu in my red curry and I just got home and it's full of tofu.
Whenever I visit Mountain View and stay in the Hampton Inn across the street, I order food from here the first night of my stay. It's nothing outstanding, it's not special in any way, but it's good and it's convenient. I know what to expect, and they are consistent. I would give them 5 stars with two changes. The first thing is, I always feel like they skimp on the protein portion. Carbs are plentiful and protein is skimpy. Increase the protein about 50%, and it'd be great. The second is really simple - provide paper plates and plastic utensils. I know they don't do this, so I now just pack a paper plate and plastic utensils in my carry-on luggage so that I can order food to go from here.
Very understaffed, but food is great. Expect a wait once you're seated. I swear there's only 3 people working here. The staff is super friendly, but there's lots to do and they can't be everywhere at once. The food tasted great. Would definitely recommend the duck curry. It's an interesting Chinese-Thai blend--roasted duck in a spicy Thai curry sauce. Would prefer this spot over Amarin Thai cuisine a couple blocks down.
