Scratch On Lake

This is generous because the food is good and our previous experience was 4 stars. Took 15 min for a server to greet us. Took another 30 minutes for 2 burgers to come out and our fries weren't cooked throughly. Pretty sure they forgot our order. Also, they close at 11pm but they're putting chairs up at 940pm? Felt unwelcome and like they were pushing us out.

Food looks good but don't be fooled. Firstly, upon walking in and being seated I immediately noticed how unclean the tables were and my water cup had a strange well-like smell. The menus were also unclean. But the food: It was disappointing... The buffalo Mac and cheese was very dry. From the noodles being too hard to the sauce being too dry to the chicken being bland and dry it was bad. The nachos were also a disappointment. Huge unessecary chunks of tomatoes and mostly just cheese and jalapenos. The jalapenos bring no spice because of how they are prepared aswell. Over all I regret eating here but would have at some point.

I just moved to Oak Park and Scratch on Lake was the first place we went to after we moved in and we really enjoyed it. The Cuban sandwich is delicious!! Also we had the 805 pale Ale beer which was also really good. The atmosphere was great and the waitresses were also very attentive and nice. We've been back twice already we liked it so much. This is definitely going to be a regular spot for us!
