Santiago's Mexican Restaurant

Atmosphere was great, service not so much. My tacos were the typical tacos, basically no different and no better than other restaurants I've been to in the past. However, my wife's nacho appetizer was absolutely terrible. She always orders this meal at various Mexican restaurants, but this dish was by far the worst. Eight chips topped with hamburger, then covered with a slice of cheese. Brought out looking like it just popped out of the microwave. Chips were extremely hard, cheese was like thick rubber. Swapped that out for another order of tacos. Other than doing the swap, nothing was done to make right the trash that was brought out. Even had to pay the difference for the taco order exceeding the nacho cost. Tacos were the usual, so if faced with options between restaurants maybe consider an alternative.

My fiancé and I frequent Santiago’s often as we live close by, and it never disappoints. The food is amazing, the drinks fresh and the atmosphere feels authentic. It’s family owned and operated and the staff is very friendly; Every time we walk in, they greet us as if we’ve been long time friends. It’s a warm enviorment. Try the steak fajitas or the carne asada - amazing stuff!! Portions are super generous and the salsa and chips are homemade and delicious!!

Good American-style Mexican food, although it was a bit more basic than I'd expect for LaGrange, but maybe my choice was the basic one. This was only my first visit, so I'll definitely go back to try something more complex. Service was good and staff was friendly.
