Santa Ana Fresh Mexican Food

I tried out this place today. I wasn’t disappointed as I saw a few reviews about the California burrito so that’s what I got. And it is good. Also got an order of rolled tacos. Also good (still think Sayulitas are a little better). I asked for the spiciest salsa and well, that i got. Salsa is spicy just the way I prefer it. Also ordered a cup of champurrado (its average). Overall the carne asada alone has a decent taste compared to other tacos shops around Escondido so for the first time being here i give it 4 stars because the menu is so large so I will come back to explore a few other items on the menu. Updated: menudo, beef stew (caldo de res) are also very tasty. Bumped it up to 5 stars. Well deserved. Really like the carne asada nachos (without pico) and a lot of red salsa.

Paid close to $50 for bland food. Fish tacos were large and really thick batter. Ok...just not great. Shrimp fajita plate...just ok. Not a ton of flavor. Breakfast burrito should have been renamed potatoe burrito. Doubt it had an entire egg in it. My son wouldn't even finish it. Place looked clean. I do find it a little silly for them to charge a dollar something for a 2 oz side of sauce. For $50...just throw it in.

This is one of the most underrated restaurants in Escondido. I just had1 mar y tierra taco that was amazing, usually I drive to German's truck in San Marcos but I pulled up to the walk up window and literally was ready to go in 5 mins (during lunchtime!) I am definitely going back for more soon ! Didn't get a picture because I ate the taco too fast lol.
