Ruthy's Bakery

Ruthy’s Bakery and Latin Cafe is legit good. 4 stars ONLY because I didn’t try any of the cafe items, only the bakery stuff…and it was all good! Ruthy’s is hidden away in a little plaza on the west side University Drive. If you aren’t looking for it, you will probably miss it. The Colombian empanadas and croquettes were delicious and cooked perfectly. Ruthy’s has a wide variety of delicious pastries. As of the time of this review (July 2021), if you buy 6 you get one free. I also got to try a delicious experimental treat while I was there, the NUTELLA empanada. This is a mom and pop place with heart, go support a great local business in Davie. You’ll enjoy the food and you’ll enjoy supporting a great lady.

This was my second time getting empanadas from Ruthy's Bakery. After spending a few years in Bogota Colombia back in the late 90's, I fell in love with empanadas. I think after trying other bakery's empanadas. Ruthy's is the most authentic Colombian empanadas. I got the chicken and beef in pastry and the cheese in masa. They are consistently very good. (As good as the first time) I also tried a ham coqueto which I have never had before. It was yummy. I will be back again when the empanada craving kicks in. You won't be disappointed.
