Rustic House Oyster Bar & Grill - Los Altos

Been there twice, had a good time both visits. I don't know much about oysters specifically, but the person I went with went on about "the small ones here are great", and I trust their opinion when it comes to oyster quality. The other non-oyster dishes I tried were pleasant and somewhat reserved on their flavoring. Other seafood places I've been to seem to like putting lots of salt and other spices in the dishes, this place is a bit more subtle about it which puts more emphasis on the texture. Staff was also very friendly both times I visited. I'm more than happy to visit again when the occasion arises.

Great food. Fresh seafood. Friendly and prompt service! Was able to make reservation for 12. We got seated promptly. We had a dozen of raw and grilled oysters. Both were delicious but we liked the raw one more. Really, really fresh! We all enjoyed our entrees, prawns Caesar salad, cioppino with pasta, Alaskan cod tacos, lobster roll, sole, mahi mahi, and crab & lobster Alfredo pasta! Yummy! Will visit again!

Came here on a Friday night on a date and was seated right away! Good: The portion size of the cioppino was really good and I really liked the taste of it - very savory and great amount of seafood in it. It wasn't the best I've had, but the linguini helped make it a filling dish and the garlic bread was really good. The grilled oysters were really good too - you don't get a lot with the price tag, so we got 6 and shared between 2 people. The ambiance here is good for a date night. The waiters are very attentive and prompt. Bad: The rustic house pasta didn't have much flavor - super bland and felt like it wasn't worth the price tag. This place is a more expensive place, so don't be shocked if you have to shell out a good amount of money for the amount of food you get. Overall wouldn't come back, but the staff here are really nice and the ambiance is good.
