Ruben's Mexican Food

Fantastic "fast food" Mexican. Take away only and no seating on the sidewalk. Fairly limited menu, but it's fast and pretty authentic. Also one of only a couple places serving food late in the neighborhood.. Up to 2am on busy nights. Cali burrito and Chicken Quesadilla are my go to eats typically, but the tacos are great too. The portions are very generous, but the prices are a little high, but I consider them fair. Be sure to get some fresh made guac while you're at it.

This is a takeout only spot that is way too expensive for what it is. I got a burrito and there was hardly any meat, no sauce or sour cream, pretty much just rice and beans with a hint of cheese. A small step above Taco Bell at best. The fries were very soggy and came in a tiny portion. The sauces were good. I enjoy spicy food and the orange hot sauce was too spicy for me. Overall disappointing.

The quesadilla was very small. The chicken burrito was very delicious and okay sized. The guacamole was bland but it did taste fresh! The Jamaican drink tasted good. Parking for takeout is a HASSLE.. It is relatively downtown after all. Overpriced.
