Route 290 American Sports Grill

I went expecting Demetre’s and found it’s a new establishment. I enjoyed the Philly cheesesteak me and my son ordered. I recommend it here…

Decor was great, but subpar food quality. Fried green tomatoes had sauce that looked to be made out of cheese-wiz. BBQ didn't taste any better than what I make in a croc-pot. Fries we frozen with a good seasoning. Shrimp in the shrimp and grits had to be peeled so hands now smell like shrimp. Nothing made us feel like we must come back, which is a shame because I love supporting local businesses.

The food here us outstanding, BUT, the atmosphere....... I really don't like giving bad reviews, but I have to be honest, the atmosphere was terrible. The restaurant was not crowded at all so the staff took liberty to play their songs of choice inside the restaurant. They chose to play the unedited versions of every filthy rap song imaginable. I kid you not! I really couldn't enjoy the time I spent there. The language was awful. The staff was young so I get it, but the ambiance should be directed towards the customers. It was a weekday so the place was pretty dead. The food was great, but I just didn't enjoy the atmosphere.
