Root Down

Root Down was great. We had a table of 10 which they accommodated extremely well from booking ahead of time to the service during. I picked this place because the menu seemed to have options for all diets while still offering interesting dishes. No one had to compromise. We ordered a lot of food and everyone was happy. I'll comment specifically about the Harissa "Tofu" Tagine. It was so good! The server let me know that they made their own "tofu" out of chickpeas. They were small triangles that were crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside but still with good texture. The cauliflower it came with was cooked perfectly. It still had an amazing bite but wasn't raw. It was charred a bit too which added to the complexity of the dish. The couscous salad was flavorful too and kind of melded with the roasted red pepper stew. This dish nailed everything from varying textures to balanced flavors. It is so nice to get a thoughtful vegan dish instead of a modified or afterthought. Our service

The food was absolutely fantastic - flavors, textures, presentation, everything! Service was beyond compare as well, and the atmosphere was elevated casual and fun. Our party of six diners for Sunday brunch truly enjoyed our meal at Root Down. Next time we'll have dinner - looking forward to that! Vegetarian options: Tons of options for both vegetarians and vegans, yet carnivores and omnivores will truly enjoy the menu as well. Dietary restrictions: Staff at Root Down were more than accommodating to our group's dietary restriction requests. Parking: There is no parking lot, but there's plentiful street parking nearby. Kid-friendliness: No "kid issues" at this establishment. Wheelchair accessibility: Very accessible - no difficulties at all.

Very cool place. Al was a fantastic server. We sat outdoors in October and it was lovely. The outdoor seating feels like part of the restaurant, not just outdoor furniture. The food was not cheap but delicious.
