I ordered shrimp & gravy, my boyfriend ordered the ribs. The ribs were edible but the shrimp & gravy.. Horrible!! Unseasoned! It was more like brown water over rice. My boyfriend took the food back inside to throw it away.. he told the owner we were unsatisfied & he seemed surprised. He said he’s never heard that before.
We wanted something different last night and found this place listed on the Support Black-Owned Businesses list on Uber Eats, and were excited to try it. Hubby got fried fish and shrimp, and the breading was so light and flavorful! The BBQ beans and cornbread were sweet and delicious, and the jerk chicken was saucy, juicy and falling off the bone. Now that I know this is the place for soul food done right I will get the oxtails next time! But I definitely want the beans and cornbread again.
Food looked good and smelled good but the porkchops were undercooked and were swimming in oil/grease. I could not even eat this. It was way overpriced as well. $16 and highly disappointed. I do not recommend this place.
