This place has lost everything it used to have. The quality of ingredients seems less. There are less customers. The gravy needed something, maybe fresh pepper. Like everything felt just average when pre-pandemic River's Edge was worth the wait.
My dad and I stopped here on our way home. It's a lot different than the last time I went when it seemed like a family restaurant. Now it's more like a college place. We ordered at the counter and then sat down. The food came out about 15 minutes after ordering. We both ordered the California club with a side salad. The sandwich was ok. I'd prefer fresh turkey. But this wasn't bad. The salad was better. I'd go back and try breakfast.
I never feel compelled to leave bad reviews, but I feel like I need to warn other people before they spend a bunch of money on an unremarkable breakfast. All of the plates are about $20 so I was expecting fresh, quality food that would leave me feeling satisfied. Instead, we received what I can only really compare to the complimentary hot breakfast at a Best Western. It wasn't terrible, it just wasn't worth what they are charging. Seriously, this is like Bisquick pancakes and pre-cooked bacon type stuff with an insane markup. There are so many quality breakfast places in Sacramento that serve up superior food for a fraction of the price. Do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else
