River Street Tavern

Ate here for lunch today with extended family to celebrate a birthday. All of us had eaten here before and had a good experience, but it had been a couple of years. Started out with fried pickles. No seasoning at all on the batter - tasteless. And very greasy. Meals included a noodle bowl (swimming in sauce), a burger (good), Asian salad with chicken (good except for the chicken which was obviously pre-frozen, not fresh...was tough and chewy so pushed most of it to the side), and a turkey pita sandwich (decent). Music inside was blaring. Hard to hold a conversation with dining companions. Service was very good. Sorry to say, we won't be back because of the quality of the food and the overly loud music.

Me and my boyfriend are sitting at the bar when a couple of kids came up a solicited candy to us “for the homeless” and I declined on the sole fact that candy wasn’t on the tasted buds but I was super confused about being sold candy while sitting at the bar. Come to find out these kids come often to this establishment and sell and get these customers to buy candy from them. I was so incredibly impressed by the manager who was so cool calm and collected about it being a restaurant manager myself this was frustrating to me but super weird experience. But I will say the bar and and restaurant here was wonderful with great staff awesome atmosphere and delicious drinks just a few crazy kids to look out for.

My first time here was a great experience overall. I ordered the Ancho Espresso Rubbed Steak and fries. The fries were absolutely amazing and the steak had great flavor and seasoning, but was overcooked and therefore tough. I ordered it medium and it came out medium well/well done. Tina, one of the owners, could not have been more pleasant and understanding. I'm eager to come back and try more things on the menu! Oh, and the brownie was delish. ????????
