Pleasantly surprised. The Fried Brie and pepper jelly app was really good. The chargrilled oysters weren't the best I've ever had but were cooked nicely. Needed more garlic and butter. But the service was excellent. I also had the Stinky's daiquiri and it was delicious. Gonna be my new spot I think. Definitely want to try more of the menu.
We went for Happy Hour half priced oysters. The waiter took the order after 10 minutes the manager (I assumed) came to the table with drinks. I had a question about the oysters, when I asked her she said we don't have any oysters. My waiter never told us this, so we really were waiting for nothing. Then the manager said well since you have already been waiting let me see what I can do, comes back in 5 minutes to say, "Yeah we're out." That's confusing! If you knew you were out why would you say you'll see what you can do? Then I remembered she said they were out of Happy Hour oysters, so I wondered if I was there outside of Happy Hour would they miraculously have oysters again?!?!? My son's pork nachos were good however.
I had a really nice experience at Stinkys! There was a singer playing the keyboard when I came for dinner on a Friday. We got the huge log of oysters and they were delicious. I wasn’t a fan of every variety, but the Parmesan bacon ones were really good! I think some may have been a tad over cooked because they were tough. The crawfish pie i had for dinner was easily the best I’ve had in town! The fried catfish was also great, but I’ve had better bbq shrimp and grits. Overall, I was impressed, but there’s room for improvement considering the price tag!
