It’s… good. Very swanky. The food was tasty and the ambiance was very nice. I love the little shrine to tequila with the vertical conveyor belt system behind the bar, that made me laugh. I felt that the food was not worth the price. Although it was good quality, unique and served in an artist manner, I have had better tasting food for less money. Personally I think almost everything on the menu had an excessive amount of onion which I was told is already pre-mixed in (so it’s not made fresh). I think the experience is more about the design and unique flavors. It’s certainly not authentic Mexican style food. I know this isn’t the case but to me, the shrimp tacos tasted like they had put barbecue sauce on them. I will say that their drinks tasted amazing, still slightly over priced, but great! The service was standard, nothing bad but also nothing above and beyond.
My first time here. We all chose a combination of 3 tacos. I had a shrimp, a short rib and a mushroom. The shrimp was by far my favorite, the sauce is really good... savory with a hint of sweetness for balance and somewhat exotic. The short rib was a tender and tasty second and the mushroom, though good, I most likely wouldn't order again, but a nice alternative for vegetarians and vegans. A little pricey at $9.00 - $10.00 per taco, but the portions are good... 2 tacos would have been plenty. The staff was friendly, the service good and it has a nice atmosphere.
