Best pizza I've had since I moved from Cali, no place better than here, and they also put ricotta in their calzone! Now that's something it took me a long time to find!
I used to eat Potesta's as kid growing up at the Vernon Hills location. Always had fond memories. I've bypassed the one in Waukegan many times due to the poor reviews I had read. Was on the hunt for food before a meeting that was keeping me late at work and I saw the Potesta's sign on the awning and thought why not? Now I know why not! I ordered an Italian Beef and fries. Was told it would take 15-20 minutes. OK? Cooked to order. Unfortunately not. By the time I drove the mile or so back to my office the food was cold. They wrap a pickle in with the beef? I can understand with a burger or hot dog - but with beef? Just changed the whole aromatic experience. The Aus Jus on the side had so much spice floating on top was also off putting. Beef was thick and dry (almost gyro consistency). A good Chicago Beef should be razor thin to absorb the juices. Fries were also bland, barely salted and soggy.
