Was looking for BBQ and reviews said this was the best in Charleston. Venue is nice and welcoming. Place was very busy. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. Menu is limited and the BBQ was ok. I had the pulled chicken sandwich but it wasn’t pulled chicken as in shredded (which is what I was expecting) but rather chunks and pieces of chicken on a bun that looked like it was boiled. It wasn’t seasoned at all. There were 2 sauces on the table which weren’t labeled and I couldn’t tell the difference (if theres was one) between them. They were mustard based and runny. I opted for the sweet potato wedges which were good and had a hint of cinnamon sugar. The others in the party seemed also thought their food was ok; nothing to write home about. Food was average at best. *** on the bottom of the menu was a message stating they were charging 3% above the printed menu prices because of inflation. No one mentioned this or pointed it out and if you didn’t carefully read the menu you
The brisket sandwich was super yummy! Definitely one of our favorites ever! Homemade chips were way over-fried...no amount of ranch could save them. Pulled pork was also delicious and even more delicious when we added the sauce to it. The cornbread skillet was crunchy and sweet. Staff was friendly and attentive.
Honestly, being from the south I've had a lot of BBQ and this place was no exception! I came in here for lunch on a weekday and it wasn't busy so I was seated right away. I ordered a delicious sweet and the highly recommended cast iron cornbread while I waited on my pulled pork sandwich. Everything was delicious and I can't recommend enough! The waitress was so attentive, environment was well kept, and location is near all the shops; so it's a perfect stop between shopping!
