I was excited to find a Polley's Pies still around. My friend and I went for lunch. It was in an obscure location in a shopping center in Fullerton. The restaurant was nearly empty. It was decorated so cute and we were so excited! My friend ordered the chicken salad sandwich.I ordered chicken strips. My friend gets her sandwich and she swears its tuna not chicken. Which I tasted and believed it was the wrong sandwich. We asked the waitress to double check. She takes the plate back to the cook..brings the same thing back and says it's chicken. The waitress doesn't ask if she wants anything else instead. My friend didn't want to make a fuss..but I asked if she could could order something different..which she did. Then my chicken was ordered as shrimp and chicken..so I had to wait on that. I was brought out a chicken strip way after my food arrived.The whole lunch was messed up by that point. My friend really has an aversion to tuna or any seafood..so it really messed everything up. The
Quit going to Polly's especially for breakfast when they quit serving their great waffles. We found another restaurant that did. Some of their dinners also lost a lot of the greatness we had enjoyed since we'd started going in 68.
Polly's Pies has been around since I was a pee wee. My family and I have always enjoyed purchasing their famous pies to bring home to share. We've only ordered pies here but this time around because my brother-in-law's family was in town requested that we sit down and dine in together. We arrived around 4:30pm on a Saturday. There was plenty of seating as we had about 20 in our party. Definitely a good spot for comfort food.
