Small spot with counter seating. numbered pictured menu with a ton of options, fresh OJ. Fairly inexpensive. Charming service from the ladies at the counter - enjoyed the low key visit and would come back to escape some of the more commercialized restaurants in the area...
I have never been to cuban diner before and that is exactly what this place is. The service was amazing and the food was filling and delicious!!!! Playa Cafe has a lot of Caribbean, American, and Central American food options. Those looking for veg or non-meat options should try the baleada, a giant flour tortilla filled with refried beans, queso duro, and crema. The cashier advised I add egg and avocado and it was a perfect breakfast. Also had a delicious freshly-made cafe con leche and plantains while my partner had the chorizo Central American breakfast plate (comes with fried cheese!). Looking forward to trying more if I'm ever back in Miami :)
