If you like diners, this is everything - good food - like really good! And ridiculously cheap. The locals know it, visitors know it, and it seems to be everyone's favorite. 4 seats at the counter, otherwise a couple of rooms of tables and booths. It was fast and good.
First of all, our waitress, Grandma, totally made the entire visit. Both of our kids hugged her before we left. Wonderful, kind, and attentive server. The food and portions were also very good. There wasn't a wait at all. The ONLY complaint is the coffee. I was a first responder and a taxi driver. I firmly appreciate strong coffee. But this just tasted burnt.
I went to the Pioneer Restaurant with my mom for breakfast a couple weeks back and got their 3 eggs combo with grits. Everything tasted amazing and the girts were perfect consistency. Like the sign says Family dining and just plain good food!
