Reviews for Pinkerton's Barbecue

The brisket was so juicy and tasty that I didn't need any barbecue sauce at all. This place is legitimate. I wouldn't bother going anywhere else in San Antonio if you want good barbecue. I tried a couple of other places on the Riverwalk and they can't even hold a candle to Pinkerton's. The sides were delicious also. Service was fast and friendly. Great atmosphere. We went on a Saturday night and there was about a 30-minute wait to get in and they also had run out of a few items such as pulled pork. Nonetheless it was totally worth the wait and I would go back there in a heartbeat next time I'm in San Antonio.
Went here yesterday for lunch and it was soooo good. The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant itself was amazing and clean and huge. It’s family style and we ordered and take food to the table. Picnic style tables. The food was cooked to perfection. The ribs were fall of the bone type. Seasoning was perfect. Sausage was good too. Mac and cheese delicious. We got bread pudding but gobbled that down before I got a chance to take a pic. It was warm and yummy. Definitely recommend this place to anyone. Must go place.
The food was pretty good--we went later in the evening so they only had brisket and jalapeno sausage for meat, and no cold sides. The Mac and cheese was good, but could have used a bit of salt. With all the smokers going, we expected the meat to have a bit more of a smokey flavor, but it was still pretty good! It is a pricey place to eat, so be prepared. Ordering is a little complicated. The restaurant itself is very well decorated, clean, and spacious. There's a huge green outside as well as a patio. My only real complaint was how dark the bathroom stalls/compartments are. There's only a very dim light in each one, so no way to tell if there's anything gross on the seat or whatever.
