I’ve been twice in the past week. Very good food and excellent service. I’ve sat at the bar both times and the bartender was super helpful and so efficient and hard working. The food was very good. I had Angry Salmon one time and today had Calamari. Mmmm. Also I HIGHLY recommend the limoncello martini. I rarely drink alcohol, and this was such a treat. Really delicious. The restaurant has interesting decor with all the caricatures on the walls. The bathrooms were sparkling shiny clean. I am so excited to return soon.
After watching a play next door at the Goodman theater this was the nearest restaurant and they had a table available but it was reserved so we were limited to an hour to eat. We took the table since parking was paid for already and it was near. The place takes you back in time and it is well taken care of. They have drawings of people on all their walls, Our server was friendly and accurate with the order, the food came out fast as well. The food was ok, the drinks were better. They do have a large menu so perhaps other items are much better. They do have outdoor seating and the restaurant is easy to find since it is on the corner.
A trip downtown to explore Kringle Market and admire the tree in Daily Plaza isn't complete without a dinner at Petterinos. Came in for classic Italian fare and wasn't disappointed. Past experiences included a lively piano player and tonight was a very different vibe. We had some classic Italian beers to start and ordered the tomoto bisque to warm up with. The menu is a la carte, so plan on a few sides to help with the proteins and starches. Entrees ordered were Gnocchi, Five Cheese Ravioli and a side of green beans. They were out of the braised beef short ribs and really don't have anything close to the flavor texture. These worth coming back for... Dinner was well paced, and kitchen works swift as they are used to the show crowds coming and going. We had cups of espresso for dessert and were forgotten towards the end for the check... otherwise that would be the only mark against the service.
