The owner of this restaurant is always friendly, he goes about and beyond when it come to greeting you, He serves delicious traditional menudo on weekends, is one of the best menudos. also if you love coffee and concha, the Mexican sweet bread and a cup of coffee, just visit him he opens at 8am, sittings are available outside ????.

*** NEW UPDATED REVIEW *** My wife and I love having breakfast at Pepita's outdoor patio and enjoy the owner's hospitality and attention to detail. You always are made welcome by Chuy, the owner and his daughter Alejandra. The food has that special homemade taste just like my grandmother used to make including the flour tortillas that are included in our breakfast. We will certainly be back for breakfast and maybe lunch and try other items in their menu. Highly recommended. *** OLDER REVIEW *** My wife and I were in the mood to try a new to us restaurant for breakfast. We ended up in National City at Pepita's Café. We placed an order to go of ham and eggs for me and huevos a la mexicana for my wife plus a couple of coffees. Service was excellent, fast and friendly and the food was delicious, we really enjoyed it. To go packaging was of good quality (didn't end up on my lap while eating in the car). Can't believe we drove by many times in the past and never noticed this excellent restau

Nastiest place ever came in one day fro breakfast horrible smell as I enter the place walked over to a table but could not even sit because of the nasty and horrible smell walked out almost throwing up. NEVER AGAIN smell was like old nasty cooking oil also old grease smell eewwgh!!
