Came here for live music and great food about 2 years ago, and am back again. Covid had stopped all this fun in it's tracks, but now things are carefully returning. One of my favorite bands is playing tonight (Craic Haus) with their special Rockabilly Irish music so I made the trip from El Lay for the show. This is a smallish bar, located mid block on an old town historic street in old town Escondido. They have captured the essence of the old country and if it wasn't for the accents you might actually feel like you stepped over the Atlantic as you came through the door. Staff is friendly and fun, food is above par, pub grub as it should be. Not the cheapest meal you will ever buy, but worth every penny for the atmosphere and experience!
One of the hidden gem in Escondido. Its our first time here and we were surprised how friendly the staff and people dining that night. We walked in and there is a band playing beautiful Irish songs very entertaining and friendly. Bryan the lead singer sat down next to us to welcome us and he talked about his band. Many of the people that were dining there have been going there for years and they know each other by their first names. Love that they have several tv to watch sports. Bar and menu full of Irish food selection. It is not a big place so you may need reservation. Sunday is not as crowded we just walk in. We are going back with our friends next time.
This place just feels "OG" like they've been there for a long time killing it with locals. I got the corned beef and cabbage with a couple clean pints of beer and it was great. Got some wings and other appetizers that were all great. It was a busy Friday night here with the local car show in town but parking is available in public lots next door. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Escondido especially with that whiskey/scotch bottle list.
