Happy that this place opened back up! Great food and they have a wide selection of tea and coffee
After hearing so much about Oscura's new location and setup, we stopped in and enjoyed a Cuban sandwich and side salad, right down to the dressing on the salad, everything is hand made in the kitchen with sustainably sourced and as much as possible, locally produced ingredients. Absolutely fresh and delicious (we duplicated that order on the second trip). The milk for the dressing comes from Daiken farms in Myakka City, the bread for the Cuban sandwich is made by a local baker in Tampa that has been making bread for over 100 years and this is a common theme throughout the menu selection - Fresh and Local. Our second trip was to sample the breakfast menu - homemade Avocado toast and French Bread. DELICIOUS. Oscura has a full bar for the crowd that comes for the live music on the weekend and the menu continues to grow every time we have been in (4x). For fun - ask them where the microwave is. (there isn't one).
This is a perfect coffee shop. I ordered a cortado and avocado toast. The espresso is perfectly extracted and balanced. My wife had a cold brew with oat milk and ordered the breakfast sandwich. She really enjoyed it as well. Their menu is small but everything is perfectly executed with high quality ingredients. The cafe is LGBT+ inclusive, clean, lots of seating choices, beautiful plants, atmosphere is really nice, and baristas are incredibly friendly & down to earth. They have a stage for music events, and had some posters about bands, trivia nights, and upcoming movie nights this month. They have a bar, but also offer plenty of fun non alcoholic drinks as well. The bathrooms are also very well maintained. We are also so excited that this cafe is open later, since many cafes close in the early afternoon. We already plan to come back this week for their Halloween trivia night, and this coffee shop is going to be our regular shop now.
