Veterans Day means many things to different people. What was originally Armistice Day that ended WWI, was changed to Veterans Day in 1954 to honor all veterans for their service. WWI ended on the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month in 1918. Each year, Olive Garden provides a free meal to any veteran on Veterans Day. Today, I came here and was really appreciative of the honor and dignity that these wonderful individuals extended to me as a veteran. I don’t ask for recognition and I also felt like I shouldn’t get a free meal just because I served. But, being humble is a good thing at times and I was blessed today. Every time I come to this location and other Olive Garden’s around the US, its always a great experience from the service to the meal. I come to this location several times a year, and will again with my family and friends. Thank You Olive Garden and especially all of the TEAM that make this Minnetonka location great!
Pretty good service. Very friendly. Some of the food was served hot and some lukewarm, but it was all delicious. Waited for the check for about ten minutes, then was finally advised we were supposed to pay via the electronic gizmo sitting on the table. We thought that was just for kids to play games on. Kid-friendliness: Two different families of six with younger children sat at a table near us. A couple of the youngest ones made capes out of the large napkins. They were a riot.
It was fairly busy but the food came pretty quickly. Our server was absolutely amazing and the food was great too (I got the food in the photo below). We also got a pasta with grilled chicken but the chef forgot to add the chicken. Because of that our server decided to give us the chicken for free!
