We went for the sunset! And the ceviche was incredible! The outdoor patio overlooks the marina and the sun sets on the water, which is beautiful. It’s a kind of indoor-outdoor patio where it’s technically open, but there are windows protecting you (the windows could have been cleaner) It was a fabulous sunset, and the food was good. Our favorite by far was the Acapulco ceviche. If you just come by for appetizers and drinks, get the ceviche! We got the ensalada de la casa (starter salad), the salmon agave taco and fish taco, and the carnitas. We weren’t thrilled with the tacos- even though the salmon agave taco had Brie, which was an interesting taste, they both somewhat lacked flavor. The carnitas were juicy and flavorful and I would definitely get them again. One thing was that the service could have been better- the waitress seemed busy and distracted, and gave me flour instead of corn Tortillas after I emphasized they must be corn. I didn’t find out until I already ate it. I should
Stopped by Ola on a beautiful Sunday afternoon for lunch as I continue my quest for the best fish taco in SoCal. As far as fish tacos go, the Ola grilled fish taco is top-notch. It’s flakey and has a touch of heat. It was really good. I had the Tres Tacos. I’m a pescatarian so I wanted to try the fish, shrimp, and a lobster taco. All of these options were extra. I paid $28 for 3 tacos. That plus a drink and tip and I was out almost $60 for a lunch for one. That’s the reason for the 4 stars. If you want good food, lots of pescatarian and vegetarian options PLUS a view of the marina, give Ola a try. If you’re watching your budget, you might try somewhere else. Oh, and great service!
Great chips and salsa to get everything started. Everybody got something different and everybody enjoyed it all. I went with the tacos and there were a lot to choose from and they were all yummy.
