Ocean House Waterfront Seafood

We decided to try places in Virginia Beach on Atlantic Avenue. We landed in the Ocean House and was very disappointed! It is n under statement to tell you our food took 1- hour to arrive. The food took so long I played about 3 games of Call-of-Duty on my phone. The food finally arrives and the portion are large and enough for two. We paid about $85.00 and for that amount, the food was not good. The taste was if they cooked the food with no seasoning. The fish was bland! The side of potatoes was like it came out of the water from boiling. The ribs was dry as my throat from getting refills on my tea. Glad my wife stopped the server because she was not coming back to the table. We sit there so long the server forgot we were there. We sit waiting for her to at least ask if we wanted more to drink. The view was great but the food and service not so much. I would not recommend the place unless quality of the food is not a concern and you don't mind the bad service. Terrible place to eat sea

Food was good. Service was not, was sat by the hostess then ignored by whoever our waitress was supposed to be for 20 mins, meanwhile the table sat behind us and after us was already eating there appetizers when another waitress noticed we were abandon. Thankfully Miranda stepped in and made sure we were served. Food was good, traditional style hush puppies, strong drinks, very good crab cakes and a burger. Inside was loud but the deck was nice and calm, great view of the beach.

The food was good, but definitely not worth the price, close, but I wouldn't pay the current prices again for my meal. Currently be prepared to wait at least 20 to 30 minutes to be waited on, this was one of the longest times I've waited for "first contact" from the staff at a restaurant, it was almost like we were being completely ignored for a while. Once we we were served the staff was friendly and accommodating, they were also out of alot items on my visit as well, such as snow crab and the shark toy from one of their signature drinks.
