First time back here since 2019 and the food didn’t disappoint. Everything was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Table was in the street so we didn’t get to experience the atmosphere of inside. Pretty busy for a Tuesday night, I was surprised. Service is now done on the phone, scan the code, place your order. The servers are efficient and food and drinks are brought out super fast. Unfortunately, you lose the personal connection from your servers this way. It wasn’t until we were almost ready to leave that someone came and asked how our meal was or started to take away some of our plates (even the appetizer ones that were finished for quite some time). Enjoyed the small “mini” 3 oz drink for $5 as I can’t drink much. This was perfect for me! All in all a good night with good food and good company. Our table had a lot, all photographed. I tried the Mini Bourbon Street, BBQ Shrimp and Grits, Fried Green Tomatoes, and the Crawfish and Shrimp Etouffee. Delicious!
If you’re vegan, don’t come here for brunch. I’ve seen some main menu reviews that were good, so I can’t say anything about that, but the vegan “options” are simply two or three dishes that have things removed from them, not substituted (and you’re paying the same price). The scramble that had eggs, feta, sausage, and a side of potatoes turned into vegetables with fruit. I had to ask for avocado and “toast” - which I was then almost charged for. Friends I was with had the regular menu, they said the food was alright, but lacked seasoning. I hope the lunch menu is indeed better, but it’s a shame to advertise those two menu items as vegan brunch options when you don’t offer substitutions (especially when justEGG exists)
Nora is amazing! The dishes she recommended were all incredibly delicious ❤︎ Especially, the jambalaya, garlic toast, and eggs Benedict were so delicious that I wanted to eat more! I will definitely go back again!
