No.1 Gyro Shoppe

The restaraunt decor is strange and basic but the food is everything. I had the steak gyro, minus cucumber sauce, fries (a little salty but so fresh and delicious), a walnut baklava and the walnut baklava cheesecake. The baklava and cheese cake were so dang good. The buttery layers and the buttery sweet walnut filling. For love.

They have really good food here and the employee's are really nice..but the coolest thing i have herd is that if someone is hungery but is poor and don't have the money to buy food this place is said to of help feed hungry kids and others..god will bless this business for doing his works..great place.. Been coming here intermittently for over a decade. Great flavor and the prices have remained reasonable, especially in the face of inflation and compared to other quick service restaurants. Employees always seem nice and the location is relatively clean. Portions generally seem fair, occasionally I'll get a smaller meat portion than previous times, etc. I can't speak to the authenticity of the cuisine culturally, but it is great tasting food and their gyros are better than anything I've had elsewhere (Loops, Arby's, Crazy Greek). A must-eat on the West Side.
