Had a good meal at Nelly’s today. Service was very attentive! The decor is gorgeous, the place is very clean, and nice music in the background. Ordered a cheese empanada for appetizer - and it was delicious, but note that it is only ONE empanada in the order. Flaky crust, filled with gooey white cheese. I ordered the rellenos - one cheese, one chicken. Cheese relleno was fantastic. Chicken relleno was surprisingly bland. I thought the chicken would have more flavor - flavored it up with the gold salsa. Husband ordered the pique macho. He liked the sausage, and the seasoning of the beef was very good. Beef was a little dry though. All in all a good meal - fun to try something different.
A great local place, friendly staff and owner. The service is a bit slow. But the food makes up for it. I got the charcoal chicken. The flavor was very good and chicken was tender. We had their wings a couple of years ago at a festival and loved them. Decided to visit the restaurant while back on town. It's very pretty inside, almost romantic. Staff is great. Food is phenomenal! Got the crispy rotisserie half chicken meal. And a traditional dish. Plus a cheese empenada. The prices are reasonable and food plentiful! Highly recommend.
