My Mother's Restaurant

Has been years since we've been here. We used to live around the corner from here and would frequent this place several times a month. Well the thing is, I don't know why we waited so long to go back to this place. The food is just as good or maybe even better than what I remember. I'm a pretty big person and they all booths. But they do have two booths for bigger people. We got seated and had our drinks in no time at all. The bring a basket of bread that you can snack on if you can't wait for your meal to come out. I had the dinner and it came with one trip to the salad bar. Before I could even finish my salad the dinner came out. I had the chicken fried steak and it was awesome! The mashed potatoes are real potatoes not instant. They have a few lumps in them which is the way mom and Grandma used to make. Wish I had room for dessert but I was stuffed. The homemade pie selection looks great. Next time I'll hold off on a big dinner so I can get some of their pie

I've been eating at this neighborhood restaurant for 20 years or so maybe longer. This is a family restaurant and the original owner's truly had a love for this business! It was ran like a well oiled machine. When they retired, and their daughter got married, they gifted the restaurant to the new couple. In all honesty they should have made them buy it! Maybe they would have a deeper love and commitment to the place. The food doesn't even compare to what it was at one time and has just gotten to the point tonight was my last night eating here, They changed the menu about a month or so ago, raised the prices quite a bit! While the quality of the food they serve has fallen off a cliff! Most of the time I ordered the open face roast turkey sandwich that used to come with a nice serving of turkey breast, mashed potatoes and gravy. Tonight what I got was mostly all dark meat with a couple pieces of breast meat. Should a person choose to add the salad bar to their meal for an extra cost is a

Great portions!! The meatloaf was good, but the banana pie was like 2.5 inches high. I was stuffed, and the prices are very reasonable.
