My Love's Diner

We have tried so hard to love this place; because there is nothing good in this area. The service has always been great. The problem is the consistency in the food. One visit I had the best egg and chorizo burrito that I’ve ever had, but the next time I ordered it something was off. I even had to ask if the meat was chorizo. After numerous turkey clubs, the last one had a pink meat on it. Ham? We have no idea what it was, but it didn’t taste edible. We went in for dinner one night and my kids got the grilled cheese. Our dinner was brought out first and we were almost done when the kids were brought their food. They both took one bite and said that it was the worst grilled cheese that they had ever had. My fajitas were good. We got a fried chicken sandwich and it would have been ok if the bun were of better quality. But even then, it wouldn’t have been anything special. They are doing some things good, but have a lot of work to do.

Hubby and I took a trip to Gun Barrel City and stopped in Kaufman for lunch. We came across a small diner called "My Love's Diner" through an internet search. We're always willing to try new spots. They were pretty busy too. The staff was very hospitable and our waitress Tamara was great. I had the chicken salad and hubby had the meatloaf with broccoli and grilled squash. I also ordered a side of fried okra because it looked tasty on someone else's plate????. Everything was great except for a couple of minor things. Hubby's food was tasty but a bit cold and the tomatoes in my salad were not fresh, but the waitress did resolve those issues for us. So we were pleased and we will be back to try something else on the menu along with desert. There portions and prices are good.
