Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant

The hype was…..so so. My fiancé wants to give them 5 stars. The chicken was really good! It just wasn’t something that I haven’t had before. It was fried chicken and tasted like I thought it would. The biscuits and jam were fantastic. The rhubarb was delicious. The kids loved the Mac and cheese. The cabbage was well seasoned. The chicken and fries and corn were just alright. Nothing was horrible by any stretch. We will be back when we are back at Knott’s!

I have been interested in trying this place for years and I finally got my chance. It was even better than I imagined! Quite a variety of chicken recipes on the menu. I went for the traditional fried chicken dinner. With it you get a cup of delicious chicken noodle soup AND a house salad with iceberg, mixed greens, red cabbage, grape tomatoes, a couple of slices of cucumber, croutons, and the dressing of your choice. You also get fresh baked buttermilk biscuits with butter. A nice beginning. The main course comes with a half a chicken that was probably the best chicken I have ever had. So tender, juicy, and flavorful that even though the menu says fried, I am thinking it was broasted. It is served with fresh mashed potatoes and your choice of another vegetable. I choose the cabbage seasoned with ham and it was stellar. A 10 out of 10 meal before I even made it to the included piece of pie.
