Been wanting to try this place ever since it opened, probably about 2 years now. I just think it's cool how Eminem opened a restaurant after a play on one of his songs. The prices are fair, obviously you pay more for the star affiliated ties. They are making mad money off selling spaghetti, but it was good. The location is great for them to do business with its location near Comerica Park, Ford Field, and the Fox theater, and downtown. Got a few downfalls. There is very limited seating available, and if possible I'd suggest a pickup window to go along with the ordering window, would make the dynamic flow much easier.
Poetic experience. Ordering through a take out window in a dim windy alley. Eating unpretentious delicious comfort food at a counter on Woodward watching the pulse of Detroit's main artery. Humble prices for generous portions. An absolutely brilliant expression of gentrification that doesn't overshoot. The experience remains true to a city that once soared, crashed, and is struggling to fly again.
I had super low expectations before trying this place (not a huge fan of spaghetti). But when I found out we were passing through Detroit to go to Canada, I thought this would be the perfect place to stop and eat. It was SO good. Very well seasoned and reasonably priced as well. If I’m ever back in Detroit, I’ll definitely stop by again. Also, the staff was super nice!
