Absolutely recommend if your a fan of Indian food. Always good food and portions. They used to have a mango lemonade on the menu and when we asked about it they offered to make it and if we didn't like it not charge us. It was delicious! … More
Mirch Masala is a cute little Capitol Hill restaurant specializing in Indian Food. My partner and I decided to order takeout from them for the first time and were astounded by how expedient the call was taken. Additionally, the food was ready approximately 10 minutes after we hung up. The restaurant's interior is adorable, with plenty of seating and a small bar adorned with string lights. We had the Goa Coconut Curry and the Baingan Bhartha. The coconut curry is rich and indulgent, with just the right touch of cream. Despite the spice being hot, it could have been slightly hotter. The eggplant Baingan Bhartha is an excellent vegetarian pureed dish. My only qualm is that both dishes cost over $40 with an order of Naan bread. :/ I thought the price was just a smidge too high.
I recently dined at Mirch Masala, and I have to say, it was quite underwhelming. The food lacked the authentic flavors and spices that I was expecting from an Indian restaurant. The dishes were bland and seemed to be lacking in seasoning. The service was also disappointing, as the staff appeared disinterested and inattentive. Moreover, the ambiance was rather dull and did not contribute to a pleasant dining experience. Overall, I was quite disappointed with my visit to Mirch Masala. It did not live up to the hype, and I would not recommend it to others looking for an authentic Indian dining experience. The samosa & onion bhajiya were good. Paneer Tikka wasn't good. Malai kofta was ok ok & paneer pakora were terrible. The service is good.
