Mike Hess Brewing Imperial Beach

Hostess made little effort to seat us downstairs, where you’d have a server, and instead suggested we order food and seat ourselves upstairs. After an hour of waiting, asked about our food and found out the ticket never made it to the kitchen. Asked for the meal to be comped. Manager said she couldn’t since the check was closed (obviously did not want to take the effort to do it). Gave me a few free tacos cards instead; nice gesture but I don’t live here. Would not have left this review if the meal was comped as is industry standard for such an event. Food was great though.

Beer was good. Service was fast. Not impressed by the food, fish and chips and scallop tacos were just ok.

Let’s make it clear… it’s tacos. Like don’t expect to come in and find something else.. I think I saw a burrito on the menu. That being said these are the best tacos I have had in the San Diego area. In total, our table ordered 13 tacos. Not a single crumb was left on any tray. The kids all ordered steak and cheese. I ordered a surf and turf, Mike Hess fish, and crispy shrimp. The crispy shrimp basically has a taquito in there. That was a nice surprise! My husband ordered every type of vegetarian taco they had. We also order chips, Guac, and salsa. Between all five of us we destroyed every crumb on the table. I loved how the different tacos also had different tortilla pairing’s. We don’t even care that there are other restaurants near by…. Only eating here for the rest of our stay! Can’t say too much about their beer as we aren’t big drinkers. Cool fun environment with some cornhole.
