Midwood Smokehouse

I love the brisket from this place and have gotten it at 3/5 locations and it has been good every time. I have even referred people to go here. Yesterday I ordered a pound of brisket to go so I could enjoy it for dinner, as I live out of town but didn’t want to pass up the opportunity. Well once I got home and gave the brisket a closer look, I noticed that 2-3 slices were pure fat. I thought maybe it was some small layers of fat with meat behind them, but no, it was 100% fat through and through. So essentially 30% of the brisket I bought, at $28/pound ($30 after tax), was worthless. I’m unfortunately unhappy with this most recent experience. I didn’t expect anything extra, just the $30 worth of product I paid for. I will return to one of the restaurants whenever I’m close by, but if I have another experience like this one, I may start shying away from this place.

This place is the perfect BBQ joint. When you enter you can smell the aroma of the smoke pit. The food was very good . The atmosphere was nice . The music in the background was perfect.

Large plates of delicious smoke meats for the glutton in you! Generous portions of brisket served with country style sides. Creamy mac & cheese, savory sweet potato fries and tangy pickles. Seasoned smoked wings were bone licking good. Parking can be a chore, and please consider prime time hours.
