Michael's Grill

Let me preface this by saying that yes, the menu items are expensive. The location is unusual for such an upscale and pricey menu; located in a strip of other stores. This was our first visit here, and we almost missed the turn on Country Club because it wasn't marked. We came before Christmas, so they had a plethora of Santa figures, seasonal decor, and Christmas music piping in from the speakers. Very warm and welcoming. We saw Michael as we sat down and he was very amiable. The restaurant is a bit of an unusual hybrid of elegance and sports bar. The crab cakes were amazing and my burger was quite sizable and delicious. The house bread is crunchy—like large croutons. Not my favorite. As time passed the restaurant filled with more patrons and our server became more scarce. That's the main reason for a lost star. If we're paying good money we should not have to wait over five-plus minutes for a refill or dessert.

You are doing yourself a huge disservice if you do not dine here when you are in Oklahoma City... I have a good friend who lives nearby, and we went to numerous other establishments before I discovered this place through some serious research... My friend had not been to the restaurant in perhaps 15 years... Now, It is his go-to... And it is my go-to when I am in Oklahoma City... If I am there for one night, there is not even a thought, this is where I am going to dine... I might even go there both nights if it was just a two-night stay in the city... You will find Michael, the owner, Greeting And checking in on every table while you are there... His care is only that you have the finest dining experience that you can... And if you dine here, you will... A word of advice, the specials are always something to think very strongly about ordering... This is for gluten sensitve people. This resturant is amazing; atmosphere, food & wait staff included. Michael's is known for the caesar salad & that was the reason for my visit on my daughter birthday. I requested the salad with no croutons & was told Michael wouldn't modify the salad. I asked the waiter to please ask Michael & let him know this wasn't just a preference but an allergy issue. The waiter came back & said Michael said he would NOT accommodate my request. SERIOUSLY!!??? So, if you are gluten free you might need to call ahead to make sure they are willing to accommodate your sensitivity outside the caesar salad. I hope by writing the review that Michael will reconsider.
