META

I love META, and it is HANDS DOWN the best bar in Louisville. In terms of offerings and ambiance, there is no better of a bar to visit than META, and the prices are more than reasonable for being in a saturated area. My only criticism is that I do not always feel welcome. While I do understand that as a guest, I should not determine how the bartenders interact with guests, it feels often times that they are less than happy to serve the less-common classics and sometimes I leave feeling that the experience would have been better if I had been served with slightly more enthusiasm. Generally, cocktail culture is the product of consumers who are interested in the overarching cannon of cocktails and their history, and for me, META misses this mark by not promoting customers to feel free to ask for what they want. Asking me if I would rather have something else because a bottle is on a high shelf and requires a step stool to be brought up feels a bit juvenile and makes me feel unappreciated

This bar is my absolute favorite, the entire staff is lovely. Natalie and Steve are always super friendly and Niel makes the best daquari I’ve ever had. I recommend this bar to everyone that I feel like deserves to see such an awesome place (aka everyone that treats service industry workers like people) I’m so happy I found Meta!

Stumbled across Meta while barhopping on vacation. Fun atmosphere with a cool crowd and the best frozen drinks I've ever had. They make them in house and they are delightfully creative. A couple of them are consistent while one changes often to whatever their latest inspiration is. I will return on my next visit to the city.
