Merengue Latín Restaurant

One of my lunch spots if I am working in the south side. Delicious Dominican food, decent portions and prices. Very narrow area so seating is a bit tight. A bit of a language barrier but never an issue ordering with pointing lol. Friendly folks as well..

My 1st experience at this restaurant was this week. It was great all the servers provided amazing customer service. The selection of food they had at the steam table was good. I tried their Moro, pink beans, Pernil, chicken stew, ribs, baked chicken and Pastelillos. I went on Monday and came back on Wednesday. The Pastelillos of chicken and cheese were the best I ever had. Usually the chicken is dried at other places but theirs is juicy flavorful wow! I can't wait to go back and order a monfongo. If your looking for authentic Dominican food that is not oily nor salty this is the place!

I’d give 6 stars if I could. I cleaned their kitchen hood once and their whole kitchen is impeccably clean. The very nice owner (the lady who I believe partially owns it with her husband) made me a Tripleta; one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. Everything I order is always hot, fresh and for the very affordable prices, you get very generous portions. If you haven’t eaten here, you should. And if you have, never stop coming here. Wonderful people, service and food are what make a successful business last generations; and I’m sure this restaurant will be here for many more to come. -Jarrod B
