Menya-Gumi

It's Ramen weather and Menya Gumi in New Haven is the place to be. The menu is very simple but the flavors and service is amazing. We tried the 3 appetizers which include - Gyoza, Karage and soy garlic wings. Gyoza and Soy garlic chicken wings are ok but the Karage is soft, juicy and seasoned well. For ramen, we had the Shoyu Chintan and Tori Paitan. Both have awesome broth and you can customize by adding chili oil and other additional add ons with a fee. ???? The place is clean, have dividers between tables and sanitizers in each table. Staff is great and very welcoming.

Loved their karaage so much that we had to order another. The outside was the right amount of crispy and the inside was so incredibly juicy and soft. You can tell they just took it out from the fryer too because it was steaming and really hot when you eat it. The paitan ramen was decent - it was my first time having chicken broth in ramen and I generally prefer tonkotsu ramen so I didn’t like it as much. The katsu sando was good - the toast was so crispy and they used butter to toast it. The only thing is that I wish it had more katsu sauce though. The service is great - they gave us brown sugar boba mochi after! [food insta: @strwbrrryboba :)]

Went there on a Tuesday night for early dinner. I highly recommend their ramen it’s really the best in New Haven so far! They do provide multiple broths to accommodate for food restrictions which is a big bonus for me. They do have boba tea. Their anterior design is unique and awesome! Every time you look at it you find something you will find something new and unique! Very good place for a group of 4 or 5 or even more.
